Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has been ruled out for the rest of the 2013-14 English Premier League season due to a chipped bone in his toe, according to the Daily Star. This could come as a major blow for embattled manager David Moyes who has failed miserably this season after replacing legendary coach Sir Alex Ferguson following his retirement.

The injury is far more serious for Rooney, who recently signed a new 300,000-pound-a-week deal with United, than how it was initially projected by the Old Trafford club.
