New Delhi: With two games in hand, Bengaluru FC are just three points away from lifting their maiden I-League title. Ashley Westwood's side are currently on 41 points, and mathematically, three more points will hand them the coveted trophy.
Goa outfit Salgaocar FC and Kolkata giants East Bengal have come close to challenging for a place at the top of the table, but it all seems like an uphill task for them as of now.
That is all the more because East Bengal lost 1-0 to defending champions Churchill Brothers on Wednesday. The victory over East Bengal, however, gave Churchill Brothers a breath of fresh air, as Mariano Dias' side are currently on 22 points from the equal number of games, and have two games more. Three more points will take them out of the relegation zone.
