The father of the Argentina and Juventus star Carlos Tevez was kidnapped but released eight hours later. Lawyer Gustavo Galasso said Tuesday that Segundo Tevez was in "good shape."
Police did not immediately provide information, but Argentine TV station C5N said Tevez was set free after a payment of $400,000. Galasso did not confirm this.
Local reports said Segundo Tevez was kidnapped by unknown assailants around sunrise but offered few details.
