Porto:The big game today in Euro 2004 has Portugal taking on Russia. The match has been described as a kill-kill situation by the Brazilian coach of the host side. Coach Luiz Felipe Scolari took Brazil to world cup glory in 2002, however he and the rest of the Portugese team are under fire after they were shocked 2-1 by Greece in the opening game of Euro 2004 on Saturday. Big Phil, as Scolari is called, knows just how crucial the second game against Russia will be. "In the beginning of the tournament we thought we should push for a win or at least a draw against Greece. This was to avoid any risks in the two following matches. Unfortunately, the first match was a disaster, a total disaster. Now every match will be a quarter final. As we say in Brazil 'it's a kill-kill situation'," said Scolari. Portugal however will have to seriously reconsider their strategy against Russia. For starters, Scolari will have to think about starting with Cristiano Ronaldo. The Manchester United teenager came on in the second half against Greece and though he conceded a penalty, he did score the consolation goal. Brazilian born Deco meanwhile could also start from the beginning of the game. The Porto midfielder made some powerful runs on the right flank, though he couldn't quite supply the lone striker Pauleta with too many worthwhile crosses. Russia meanwhile have some problems of their own after losing 1-0 to Spain. Things have not got any better with their coach sending home one of his players Alexander Mostovoi for being too critical of his tactics. Russia though aren't really the favourites from the group where everybody is expecting Portugal and Spain to go through.
