Barcelona, Spain:

Spanish Primera Liga leaders Barcelona entertained Osasuna in front of around 65,000 fans on Sunday evening, looking to consolidate their position at the top of the standings. But the Catalan supporters were probably expecting a tight match against a side who had not lost on their last three visits to the Nou Camp. Indeed, although showing little invention in attack - they were missing injured striker Savo Milosevic and suspended midfield enforcer Pablo Garcia - the visitors provided stiff resistance to Barcelona in the first half. Decisive game Xavi's early breakaway and run - he pulled his shot wide - promised better things to come but the Catalans had to wait until just before half-time before they broke the deadlock. Then, two quick-fire goals proved decisive. First, Ronaldinho chipped a clever pass over the defence to towards striker Samuel Eto'o on the left of the area and the African Player of the Year caught keeper Ricardo Sanzol off guard when he volleyed into the far corner. The Navarrans hardly had time to draw breath before they went 2-0 down, Ronaldin who scoring from the penalty spot after he was adjudged to have been pushed by midfielder Patxi Punal as he jinked into the area. The game lost momentum after the break, and the home fans had to wait until the closing minutes for the next worthwhile action. A neat interchange of passes between Xavi and substitute Andres Iniesta saw the latter's shot beat Sanzol but strike the post and go behind, However, Barca wrapped up an emphatic win in stoppage time when Eto'o danced into the area, exchanged a pass with midfielder Iniesta and drilled home his seventh goal of the season.
