New Delhi: Sahara Force India team principal Vijay Mallya said on Tuesday that he is confident that his team will put up a better performance in the Malaysian Grand Prix. This after Paul di Resta salvaged a point from the season-opening race in Australia last weekend.
While Mallya admitted that the Melbourne Grand Prix showed how most cars are closely matched, he said that it was rightly predicted that the mid-field competition is close. "What is clear is that all the teams around us are very closely matched in terms of absolute pace and even the smallest mistake in qualifying or the race can cost you several positions."
Mallya said he was eager to have a consistent season this year. "Sepang this weekend should be another good indicator of where we stand in the pecking order. I'm optimistic that it will suit the characteristics of the VJM05 more than Melbourne and that we can remain in the hunt for points."
