Lewis Hamilton is confident of Mercedes providing him with a car that can build on the recent success in Hungary and take him to the podium in each of the remaining nine races.
The Briton had a solid outing in Budapest last weekend, leading from start to finish. He now feels that the pace of the car is right to challenge the might of Red Bull and Lotus. "Our pace was very similar. If we can continue with our qualifying pace, get ourselves up front and have the tyres working as they did today, then we can fight with them (for the title), he was quoted as saying by Daily Telegraph.
Hamilton crossed the finish line a solid 10 seconds ahead of Vettel in Budapest. "Last year I didn't feel like I had the car to win 10 races," said the former McLaren driver. "This year I feel I have a car that can win 10 races. The tyres are going to play a massive part, but I truly believe in this car. It feels awesome."
Hamilton is currently placed 4th with 124 points but can jump up the ladder with considerable ease, assuming he delivers strong performances. While Vettel leads the table with 172 points, Kimi Raikkonen (134) and Ferrari's Fernando Alonso (133) are locked in an intense battle.
