Singapore: Mercedes on Monday pledged it will do all it can to prevent poor reliability deciding the destiny of this year's drivers' world championship.

The pledge came after a broken wiring loom forced Nico Rosberg to retire from Sunday's Singapore Grand Prix won by his team-mate Lewis Hamilton.

The Briton's win enabled him to leap three points clear of Rosberg in the championship with five races remaining. (No celebrations yet for Lewis Hamilton)
