Chaska (USA):Jeev Milkha failed to break par for the second successive day but still managed to rise 21 places on the leaderboard for a share of the 48th spot after the halfway stage of the 91st PGA Championships here.
The seasoned pro, who had carded a 74 in the opening round, has a total of three-over 147 and he remains in contention for a place in the Presidents Cup.
Jeev is currently 11th in team rankings and the top-10 will get a place in Australian legend Greg Norman's team. Playing his back-nine first, Jeev made an ominous start as he stumbled to a bogey on his very hole.
After a couple of par shots, Jeev picked up birdies on the 13th and 15th holes. But a bogey on the 18th left him even-par at the turn.
The front-nine was equally topsy-turvy and Jeev dropped a couple of strokes against a lone birdie to once again end the day over-par.
World number one Tiger Woods opened a formidable four-stroke lead at the top after carding a two-under 70 to total seven-under 137.
Fiji's Vijay Singh (72), Australian Brendon Jones (70), American Lucas Glover (70), England's Ross Fisher (68) and Ireland's Padraig Harrington (73) formed the chasing pack with totals of 141.
