Jerez:
Padraig Harrington finally picked up his first title of the year at the shortened Volvo Masters in Spain on Sunday, with a total score of 12-under-par after the three rounds. The Irishman, who had finished in second place seven times this season, carded a third round of 66 to finish a shot ahead of his compatriot Paul McGinley, who had led the field for most of the weekend. Ireland's McGinley, the overnight leader, had a birdie on the third hole, but he finished with a total of 11-under-par. Australia's Adam Scott had a brilliant approach shot on the 15th hole that almost holed out. He finished in third place despite a final round of 65. Northern Ireland's Daren Clarke, the 1998 champion ruined his chances of a win with a bogey on the 16 after he found the water. Meanwhile, the world's best golfer, Tiger Woods, is in Asia on his first ever trip to China. And the crowds were huge for the Tiger Woods Mission Hills Challenge, where the American took on three Asian professionals in an 18-hole matchplay exhibition in Shenzhen. He wasna€™t too pleased during the prize distribution though, with unheard of Taiwanese pro Chen Yuandu winning the title with a two-under-par 70.Topics mentioned in this article
