The HG Dad Miller course was where Tiger Woods played as a child. And years later, Tiger returned to take part in a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of work on his learning centre. The landmark project will benefit disadvantaged youth and will include an education centre to build self-esteem and promote academic achievement. The $25 million centre also lays emphasis on sport, with a 23-acre golf teaching facility, consisting of a 13-acre practice area, a putting course and a 10-acre Par-3 course. "It just blows my mind some times to be able to think that this little high school punk kid that used to play out here has a chance to come out and give back to where it all started," said Woods. The Learning Centre marks a major milestone for the Tiger Woods Foundation, an organisation established in 1996 by Tiger and his father Earl.Topics mentioned in this article
