Bradley Dredge is the halfway leader after two rounds of golf's Dunhill Links Championship played over three courses in Scotland.

Bradley Dredge is the halfway leader after two rounds of golf's Dunhill Links Championship played over three courses in Scotland. The Welshman lies at 12 under par for the tournament, two shots clear of South Africa's Charl Schwartzel and Sweden's Johan Edfors following Friday's second round. The second round of the Dunhill Links Championship was played in mostly favourable conditions. At St Andrews this impressive birdie at the 9th helped Ernie Els to card a 67, the South African lies at 8 under for the tournament. At Carnoustie, Scott Drummond, who's bidding to become the fourth Scottish winner in six years, fired a 69, two under par to lie a shot further back at 7 under for the tournament. Simon Dyson playing at Kingsbarns, holed this birdie at the 9th, which was enough to help him shoot a 68, nine under par overall for the tournament. Ryder Cup star Padraig Harrington produced the shot of the day at the par 4, 18th. A favourable roll onto the green helped set up a birdie chance, but the Irishman failed to take it. He fired a 69, to lie 9 under par going into the weekend. Singh impressive Vijay Singh, playing at St Andrews hit this impressive second shot at the 7th on the front nine. The Fijian faded somewhat at the turn to card a round of 70 however, to lie 9 under par for the tournament. Johan Edfors, playing during some inclement weather, failed with this eagle attempt at the 18th, and despite a six at the 17th he fired a second round of 70. That was enough to leave him well placed at 10 under for the tournament. Charl Schwartzel made this birdie at the 14th. The young South African fired a second round of 67 to lie 10 under overall. But it's Bradley Dredge who leads the field. This birdie came at the 15th hole at Carnoustie helping him to a 67. The Welshman leads the way at 12 under par at the halfway stage.
