Rahil Gangjee fired two late birdies in a second-round card of two-under 70 to just about make the cut at the WNB Golf Classic on the Nationwide Tour in Texas.
Gangjee, who was two-under after 33 holes, was likely to miss the cut which went at three-under before he recovered to a total of four-under 140 and grab share of the 41st place.
Daniel Chopra shot a 72 in the second round for a total of 139 and was tied 31st.
Gangjee, who started at the 10th with a bogey, was in danger of missing the cut as he was even for the day and two-under for the tournament with three holes to go.
The cut was coming at three-under and then Gangjee sank birdies on the seventh and eighth and parred the ninth to finish the day two-under 70 and become four-under 140 for 36 holes.
BJ Staten (68) and Jake Younan-Wise (65) shared the second-round lead at 13-under 131. They held a two-stroke advantage over Miguel Carballo (66) and were three clear of Cliff Kresge (66) and Tim Wilkinson (66).
