Macau: Australian Scott Barr (in pic) battled to a three-under-par 68 for the joint first round lead at a wind-swept Macau Open Thursday, renewing his affair with the USD 800,000 Asian Tour tournament.
India's Jeev Milkha Singh and Sujjan Singh lie tied third carding a round one of 70. Arjun Atwal and SSP Chowrasia are tied fifth after an opening round of 72. Defending champion Gaganjeet Bhullar could manage only a two-over 73 to lie tied 53rd after the opening round.
Barr, 41, produced a measured performance at the par-71 Macau Golf and Country Club shooting four birdies against a lone bogey to set the early pace with rookie Ben Campbell of New Zealand, who shot the tournament's first hole-in-one, and Finland's Kalle Samooja.
