Mumbai: Rahil Gangjee dominated the course with a dazzling eight-under 62 to grab the lead after the opening round of the Louis Philippe Cup in Mumbai on Wednesday.
His first round exploits helped him set the course record at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club in suburban Chembur. The Kolkata pro, who started the day from the 10th tee, opened the round with birdies on the 10th, 11th, 12th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 1st, 4th and 7th holes, while he dropped shots on the sixth and 14th.
Gangjee, along with his AVT Kolkata teammates Shankar Das and Chiragh Kumar, carded a net team score of 129 (11 under) to emerge leaders on the first day. The Kolkata team was followed by Krrish Colombo, Puravankara Bangalore and TAKE Chennai, which all ended with a score of 131 (9 under).
