Indian golf gets set for global events
Vijay Singh, Ernie Els and Adam Scott, the players ranked in the top 10 in the world, will be in India for the Johnnie Walker Classic in February 2008.

Vijay Singh, Ernie Els and Adam Scott, the players ranked in the top 10 in the world, will be in India for the Johnnie Walker Classic that will be played at the DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurgaon in February 2008.
The winner of the tournament will earn a whopping 1.7 crores and hopefully Jeev Milkha Singh, India's highest ranked golfer could be among those in contention.
"It's like hosting a Commonwealth games in India," said Jeev Milkha Singh, World Number 78 in Golf.
Jeev, who will bid to be the 1st ever Asian to win the event, has been named their brand Ambassador for responsible drinking. And while the tournament is in its 8th year, it's being held for the 1st time in the subcontinent.
And if the tournament and the big international names playing in it are not reason enough for you to come to this course.
The other incentive in a happy coincidence, the DLF Golf and Country club was named the best golf course in the sub-continent at the Asian Golf monthly awards.
Widely regarded as Asia's golf course Oscars, these awards were based on an online poll by the readers of the Asian Golf Monthly in close association with various national golf associations and professionals.
