Rochester:Arjun Atwal was left to rue a poor front-nine as he tumbled down to the tied 41st spot after turning in a three-over 73 in the penultimate round of the Nationwide Tour's Xerox Classic.
Atwal, overnight tied 17th, has a three-round total of even-par 210 at the Irondequoit Country Club.
The Orlando-based golfer opened with a birdie on the third but it all went downhill after that as he bogeyed the par-three sixth hole to make the turn even-par.
Atwal's backward journey was marred by a double-bogey on the 11th and a bogey on the 13th as he rounded of his first over-par card of the tournament so far.
At the top, overnight leader Brendon De Jonge (67) of Zimbabwe stretched his lead to three strokes with a total of 12-under 198.
American Jonathan Fricke (63) and Englishman Greg Owen (67) were tied for the second spot.
