New Zealand took an unbeatable lead in its 4-Test women's field hockey series against India leveling the third Test 3-3.

New Zealand took an unbeatable lead in its four-Test women's field hockey series against India today when the third Test was drawn 3-3. New Zealand, which won the first and second Tests, clinched the series when it squared the third match after trailing 2-0 at halftime. India scored goals through Saba Anjum and Surja Devi to dominate the first half and raise the hope it might square the series. Surindar Kaur scored for the tourists in the second half. New Zealand fought back with second-half goals to Jaimee Provan, Niniwa Roberts-Lang and Suzie Muirhead to tie the match and clinch the series. The match was part of New Zealand's preparation for the Athens Olympic Games. India, ranked 12th in the world, did not gain Olympic qualification. (AP)Topics mentioned in this article
