New Delhi: Going into the series against India, Australia possess one of the most weakest looking teams they have had in the last two decades but statistics ensure that the two share the odds as the teams get set for the Boxing Day showdown.
After a spell of sheer dominance which saw the Aussies claim three World Cup tournaments and record breaking Test victories, they now aim to rebuild into a side that once tormented every opposition.
The advantage however, lies in the balance, considering India's recent misery abroad and Australia's grip of its home conditions; a glimpse of which was shown against New Zealand in their first Test match.
India's performance Down Under has not been much to boast about either. They have won just four Test matches out of the 36 played, only managing to draw a series twice.
The two are once again set up for a gruelling battle on field in a rivalry that already has some legacy.
