New Delhi: A win against England may have pleased Pakistan but Australia coach Micky Arthur too has taken note of proceedings in Dubai. The former South African cricketer feels Andrew Strauss' side is on the verge of discovering the pressure of being Number 1.
In a report published in the Sydney Morning Herald, Arthur is quoted as saying that being at the top is a completely different kind of pressure. "I was there with South Africa [as No.1], and it's a totally different pressure. There's a lot of expectation, and it will be interesting to see how they (England) handle it," he said.
Arthur coached South Africa during a brief period in which the team became the Number 1 Test side. While his present team is staking it's claim to the status of numero uno by walloping India at home, Arthur said England have perhaps failed to adapt to the conditions. "It looked like they were still stuck in their winter woollies and hadn't acclimatised yet for Test cricket, which is understandable because they had just come out of their winter."
