Northampton: Graeme Swann has declared himself fit for the third Test against India at Edgbaston following the blow he took to his left hand in Nottingham. Swann was struck by the ball that dismissed him in the first innings from Praveen Kumar and it hampered him for the rest of the game.
Swann went on to have one of his least effective Tests, finishing with match figures of none for 97 in 15 overs, as England romped to a 319-run victory. Following the game he had further examination of the injury but all the results have come back clear although he is still in some pain.
"I've had another X-ray on the hand just to check and it's not serious," he told Sky Sports News. "There's a little bother in there but nothing to affect my preparations. It might affect my batting in the nets beforehand but that will just stop me facing a few bouncers from our boys."
