Cricket expert Sunil Gavaskar believes that Sachin Tendulkar's 100th ton would have been rather lack-lustred, had it come at the Oval Test where India suffered a humiliating innings defeat on Monday.
Gavaskar, who was speaking to NDTV in an exclusive interview said that even Tendulkar would not have wanted such a great achievement to come in a lost cause.
"A hundred that could not save the game for India would not have been of much consequence. Even he wouldn't have liked it. Had it been a big hundred that could have helped India save the game, he would have liked it more", said Gavaskar.
