Sources close to Shane Watson say the angry all-rounder may return for the fourth Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy in New Delhi next Friday. Watson flew back to Australia after being one of the four players axed for the Mohali Test due to disciplinary grounds. On Thursday, Watson became a father of a baby boy, Will.

According to reports in FOX Sports on Friday, Watson is likely to spend three-four days with his wife, Lee and then plan a return just in time for the Delhi Test. Australia have still not named a vice-captain and skipper Michael Clarke's olive branch towards the 31-year-old Watson, may see a change of heart. Friends have revealed that Watson has cooled on retirement threats, especially with the Ashes series coming up in July.

Just before arriving in India, Watson had said he wanted to play international cricket into his mid-30s. "I have no idea how long I will last, but one thing I do know is with the injuries I've had I've missed a lot of cricket in the last 10 years. As long as I play cricket well I will continue to do it," Watson told Fox.
