Steven Finn was ruled out of the second Test against India in Mumbai starting November 23 after failing to recover from the thigh strain he picked up during England's first warm-up fixture against India A, according to The Guardian. He was expected to undergo another scan to ascertain how soon he can expect to return to the side.
The development was confirmed by Andy Flower, the England team director., who hoped to have Finn ready for the last two Tests in Kolkata and Nagpur, if the scan on Finn's leg showed no major problem.
"Steven has been working hard to get back to full fitness," said Flower. "He has unfortunately hurt his leg again a couple of days ago and is having another scan on Wednesday. We don't think he's got any structural damage, but it would be careless to suggest that he might play the second Test."
