British press lavishes praise on Alastair Cook's team

England players have a firm grip on the Mumbai Test against India and the British media is already anticipating a quick win courtesy the brilliant efforts put in.

London: Celebrations, it seems, have begun early in England as the British press has already begun anticipating a win in the Mumbai Test and has praised Alastair Cook and his team for 'battering' and 'clobbering' India.

On a day that saw Cook and Kevin Pietersen combine to put on a 206-run stand for the third wicket and Monty Panesar and Graeme Swann return in the second innings to decimate seven top-order Indian batsmen, proceedings at the Wankhede were clearly dictated by the visitors. Lavish praises were heaped on the team while the lackluster performance from the hosts was also mentioned to describe the contrast in the Test.

A report in the BBC called the England team rampant and announced that a win was almost at hand. It praised the efforts of Panesar and Swann and observed that the two have been 'more threatening than the trio of Indian spinners.'
