Indian players have become casual after 2011 World Cup triumph: Sunil Gavaskar to NDTV

Gavaskar agreed that Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been chirpy on the field in the 4th and the final Test but was skeptical too. "I think so. Dhoni knows that they have to be pro-active. I believe that things are changing but I hope it's not too late." When quipped about Sachin Tendulkar's dismissal, bowled off James Anderson yet again, SMG hit out at the failures of Virender Sehwag too.

New Delhi: Former India skipper and NDTV expert Sunil Gavaskar feels that some of the Indian players became very "casual" after their success in the 2011 World Cup.

"After the success of 2011 World Cup, the attitude of some of the players became too casual. They started behaving as if the nation owes it to them for winning World Cup which is less than acceptable," Gavaskar told NDTV when quizzed about the constant failures that Team India has endured since 2011.

Gavaskar was not too forthcoming when asked about Duncan Fletcher's stay at the helm of Indian cricket.
