Bangalore: Shell-shocked by Chris Gayle's brutal 50-ball unbeaten 85, Kolkata Knight Riders captain Gautam Gambhir on Thursday said the West Indian took the game away from his side's reach as none of their plans worked against him in their IPL match here.

"The plan was to bowl in the good areas but later I think Gayle took the game away from us," he added.
