The Supreme Court will decide on Monday the duration of extension to be given to Justice Mudgal committee to complete its final probe in the IPL 2013 spot-fixing and betting scandal. On Friday, the Mudgal panel had sought a two-month extension to complete its probe.
The special Supreme Court bench, headed by Justice TS Thakur, is also likely to reveal the contents of the interim report submitted by the inquiry panel in a sealed envelope. The panel was previously told to complete its report by end of August but since a few players among the 13 under the scanner are in England, the probe could not be completed.
The inquiry panel is investigating charges of corruption against 13 individuals that include BCCI's president-in-exile N. Srinivasan - who earlier pleaded the court to recall its order for him to stay away from Board activities - and his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan who was team principal of Chennai Super Kings till last year. (I will quit career if Mudgal panel clears Srinivasan: Modi)
