New Delhi: The first ten days may not be a comprehensive duration to assess teams in a tournament as lengthy as the Indian Premier League but it surely is an indication of which teams are getting their strategy right and those which need to better strategise.
While at the end of the fifteenth match of the tournament on Friday, between Kolkata and Rajasthan, the points table showed Mumbai leading with six points although the team had played an extra match when compared to the number of matches played by the other two that make up the top-three. Delhi Daredevils and Pune Warriors are on three points from three matches each but Virender Sehwag's side has a better net run-rate. Kolkata Knight Riders have four points but like Harbhajan Singh's team, have played four matches, having lost as many as the team has won. (Click here for points table)
Interestingly, defending champions Chennai Super Kings and favourites Royal Challengers Bangalore are placed beneath Rajasthan Royals (5th). This despite the fact that the two highest team totals posted so far in the tournament have been scored by them, albeit against each other (Chennai 208/5 and Bangalore 205/8).
