But he missed that record when he fell to JP Duminy in India's second innings. Later Kohli said that he could have fallen for 0 to Dale Steyn so he's happy to take the 96 that he got.

On the third day of the Test, South Africa suffered a big blow when one of their main strike bowlers Morne Morkel hurt his ankle and was ruled out for the rest of the match. It was advantage India with the Proteas one bowler short.
