Chennai :For yet another time Somdev Devvarman and Sanam Singh proved their mettle in great measure sending waves that they are the future of Indian Davis Cup doubles play and were on road to replace the seasoned Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi in order to secure the berths for national team as they made the semi-finals of the ATP Chennai Open doubles tournament on Thursday.

With the hosts fans rooting for them, wild cards Devvarman and Sanam Singh answered their call perfecting their on court cohesion and consistency of maintaining supremacy in all departments of doubles play including success on their first serves, break points and least of errors in their 6-2 6-3 win in about an hour over the Russian-Dutch unseeded combine of Jeff Coetzee and Rogler Wassen in the quarterfinals.

To prove that the Indians are better in doubles play in big tournaments like this is evident that Mahesh Bhupati and Rohan Bopanna are also in the semi fianls from the bottom half of the draw that there is a possibility the tournament could throw up an all Indian final for the title.
