St. Poelten, Austria:
Top-seeded Andy Roddick defeated Russian Nikolay Davydenko 6-3, 6-2 in the final of the Raiffeisen Grand Prix on Saturday for his first title this season. Roddick, seeded sixth at the upcoming French Open, dominated from the start, relying on serve-and-volley play, rather unusual on clay court. Davydenko, who had not lost a single set en route to the final, was particularly clueless as to how to answer Roddick's high-bouncing backhand balls. The No. 6 seed had been looking for his third title this season. Roddick has yet to pass the third round in two attempts at the French Open. (AP)Topics mentioned in this article
