Sydney: Second-seeded Belgian Kim Clijsters completed a comfortable straight-sets victory over number six seed Lindsay Davenport in the final of the Sydney International tournament on Saturday. She won the women's crown, beating former world number one Davenport 6-4, 6-3, to register her 11th WTA Tour singles title and her first in Sydney. She has now won 19 of her last 20 matches and must be one of the favourites to win the Australian Open which starts next week, while for the disappointed Davenport, it was the fifth time in six final appearances here that she had finished as runner-up.
