Bhupathi advances in doubles, mixed doubles
Mahesh Bhupathi won back-to-back matches at the French Open to progress to the pre-quarterfinals in the men's doubles and mixed doubles competition.

Mahesh Bhupathi won back-to-back matches on a sweltering hot day at Roland Garros to progress to the pre-quarterfinals in the men's doubles and mixed doubles competition of the French Open tennis tournament in Paris today. Bhupathi teamed up with Max Mirnyi of Belarus to beat the French duo of Thierry Ascione and Julien Varlet 6-3, 6-4 in a second round match in the men's doubles. About an hour later, Bhupathi was back on court with Russian Elena Likhovtseva to play his first round mixed doubles match. The Indo-Russian duo easily defeated the pair of Mansour Bahrami of Iran and Tatiana Golovin of France 6-4, 6-2. They will now meet Liezel Huber of South Africa and Pavel Visner of Czech Republic for a place in the last eight. (PTI)Topics mentioned in this article
