Munich: Olivier Rochus won the first all-Belgian men's final of the Open Era on Sunday, beating Kristof Vliegen 6-4, 6-2 at the BMW Open. Rochus took advantage of numerous errors by the unseeded Vliegen, who looked nervous in his second career final. a€œI have waited a long time for this moment,'' the fifth-seeded Rochus said. Rochus' fifth career final was the first pitting two Belgian men against each other since the Open Era began in 1968. His singles title was the first by a Belgian man in more than a year. The world's 30th-ranked player won $56,000 and a sports car. The tournament officials said attendance was up and the event turned a profit by increasing the number of German players at the clay-court event. (AP)
