Mumbai:India's next big hope, besides Mahesh Bhupathi at the US Open in New York is Sania Mirza. NDTV chatted with the Wimbledon girls' doubles champion before she left. Sania says she's hoping to make a mark at what's going to be her last junior event. NDTV: You are about to leave for the US Open. What are the special preparations? Sania: I have worked on serve and fitness, not on groundstrokes since I feel they are pretty good. NDTV: Have you taken the hard courts of Flushing Meadow into account. It will be a big change of surface from clay of France to grass of Wimbledon to the hard courts of the US Open? Sania: I took one week off after Wimbledon and then straight away started playing on hard courts. It's my favourite surface. NDTV: You've done so well at Wimbledon. The expectations have increased for the US Open. Does the pressure get to you? Sania: No, I don't feel much pressure. I have always been used to people expecting a lot from me.
