Chennai: World Number 17 and Chennai Open defending champion Stanislas Wawrinka on Saturday said the young guns in world tennis are out to spring a lot of surprises in the 2012 season.
Addressing a press meet after the draw ceremony of the Chennai Open in Chennai on Saturday, the Beijing Olympics doubles gold medalist spoke of the challenges presented by the youngsters on the ATP circuit.
"That is the beauty of tennis as the Number 50 can beat the Number 2 and Number 20 can beat the Number 1. So it is nice for the people and good as we have lot of challenges on courts. There is perhaps an exception that the top four players have been there for many years and win Grand Slams more often," he said.
