Brisbane: Australia Davis Cup player Bernard Tomic said his father "is the right guy to coach me" and he's mystified that a recent on-court spat between the two made world headlines.
World No. 36 Tomic appeared to have had a public falling out with father John at the recent Miami Masters when he asked the chair umpire to have his father removed from courtside seating. He said Tomic senior was "annoying" him.
But Tomic told reporters in Brisbane on Tuesday, as he prepared for Australia's Davis Cup clash against South Korea, he was suprised to see the incident widely reported.
