Indian Wells: Lindsay Davenport continued her march towards a third Pacific Life Open title on Wednesday with a 6-3 6-2 victory over Argentine qualifier Gisela Dulko. The number three seed took just over an hour to beat Dulko, who put out seventh seed Nadia Petrova of Russia on Monday. Davenport will face either Colombian Fabiola Zuluaga or Nathalie Dechy of France for a place in the final. Gisela Dulko faced a mountainous task in the last eight of the Pacific Life Open on Wednesday. Still only nineteen, the Argentine qualifier was up against Lindsay Davenport, the number three seed who has been playing some awesome tennis this week. The American broke serve early on and piled on the pressure, forcing another break in the ninth game of the first set to take a firm grip on the match. The two-time winner here and beaten finalist last year didn't have it all her own way, as Dulko tried to compensate for a relative lack of power for swiftness around the court. However, even when she managed to pull Davenport out of position, the American always seemed able to find the appropriate shot. Dulko was broken twice more in the second set, committing the cardinal sin of not making your opponent serve for the match in the process. Davenport secured a 6-3, 6-2 win and will now meet the winner of the quarter final between Colombian Fabiola Zuluaga and Nathalie Dechy of France. (AP)
