Sunil Gavaskar will be one of the four owners of the Singapore team that will take part in Mahesh Bhupathi's brainchild event, the International Premier Tennis League. The League, tennis' answer to the popular IPL, is scheduled to launch in December this year.

Gavaskar's interest in the IPTL was revealed on Wednesday night as Bhupathi held a cocktail party close to the All-England Club (Wimbledon) for investors in the league.

"I am a big tennis lover," Gavaskar said, adding: "And I have followed the careers of Mahesh and his old doubles partner Leander Paes for years."
