Paris: Olympic champion Andy Murray climbed two places to eighth after winning his second tournament in a row in Valencia, as the new ATP rankings were released Monday.

Murray won a three-set thriller against Spanish veteran Tommy Robredo, who also moved up four places to 17th, a week after the Scot triumphed in Vienna.

Roger Federer closed in a little on world number one Novak Djokovic by winning in Basel, while Tomas Berdych jumped a place to fifth.
