New Haven:
Wimbledon champion Maria Sharapova already wants to be out of the spotlight, at-least for a few days. The 17 year-old has been on an almost nonstop tour of interviews and appearances since she beat Serena Williams 6-1 6-4 in the Wimbledon final on Saturday. "I know when you achieve anything that these things will happen and there's not too much you can do. If you don't like it, then just don't win," Sharapova said with a laugh. She honoured a commitment to attend a tennis clinic in New Haven for schoolchildren as part of the Pilot Pen tournament, but acknowledged she was a little tired of the seemingly endless questions from reporters. Sharapova said she plans to spend a few days in New York, shopping and visiting with friends, then will go home to Florida for a few days to study and rest. She is still in high school and takes classes over the Internet. (AP)Topics mentioned in this article
