Hyderabad:
The 20-year-old thought her win over Martina Hingis at the East West Bank Classic last month was the most satisfying of the season.
"Rankings are not important, whether they are 27, or 70 or 100 because if I am playing well, rankings will happen. That is an indication that I am playing well. Right now it is more important that I am winning matches consistently against players who are in the top 20s. I feel good about that," said Sania Mirza.
Sania stayed away from court for nearly two months this year because of a knee injury. Now it is her wrist that is giving her trouble.
"My wrist is hurting a little bit which is a concern. I have been having this injury for a couple of years. It gets better or worse sometimes, especially when I am playing on fast courts, it gets worse. It has been hurting more in the last couple of weeks. My knee is holding up fine," said said Sania.
Sania's next stop, depending on her fitness, could be the Sunfeast Open in Kolkotta next week. Her immediate goal however, is to catch up on Shahrukh Khan's Chak de India.
