Federer to clash with Murray in semis

Federer, a three-time champion here who is seeded second behind world number one Rafael Nadal, took his record to 3-0 over the 10th-seeded Spaniard on Thursday, but it wasn't plain sailing.
He led the second set 4-1 before Verdasco broke him twice to take a 6-5 lead, forcing Federer to break in the 12th game to avoid a third set.
Federer took a 6-2 lead in the tiebreaker, but needed four match points to put Verdasco away.
