New York: World number one and reigning Australian Open and Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic was confirmed on Wednesday as top seed in the men’s singles at the US Open which starts on Monday.
Djokovic, a three-time Grand Slam champion, but who is seeking his first US Open title, is the No. 1 seed at the tournament for the first time.
He will be followed by No. 2 Rafael Nadal, the defending champion; No. 3 Roger Federer of Switzerland, a five-time US Open winner and No. 4 Andy Murray of Great Britain, the 2008 runner-up.
