Sania Mirza's campaign at the 2014 Wimbledon Championships officially came to an end when she lost 5-7, 3-6 to the 10th-seeded British-Australian pair of Jamie Murray and Casey Dellacqua in the mixed doubles pre-quarters on Thursday. Sania, who was seeded sixth in the draw along with her Romanian partner Horia Tecau, had earlier lost in the second round of the women's doubles competition, where she partnered Zimbabwe's Cara Black.
Things didn't look good for the Indo-Romanian pair from the very start as they lost serve in the fifth game of the first set to trail 3-2. Although Sania and Tecau got things back on serve at 4-4 after getting the crucial break-back, they eventually lost the set 7-5 in 46 minutes.
In the second set, Murray and Dellacqua were a bit more proactive in taking opportunities on their opponents' serve and held on to a crucial break in the fourth game to wrap up the match 7-5, 6-3 after one hour and 22 minutes.
