Sushil Kumar, Yogeshwar Dutt to Skip Wrestling World Championships

Sushil Kumar and Yogeshwar Dutt have pulled out of World Wrestling Championships in Uzbekistan to prepare for the upcoming Asian Games from September 19.

New Delhi: Star grapplers Sushil Kumar and Yogeshwar Dutt have decided to skip the FILA World Wrestling Championships to be held next month in Tashkent, Uzbekistan to avoid injuries and preserve themselves for the upcoming Asian Games.

Sushil and Yogeshwar, who won a gold each in men's 74kg and 65kg freestyle in the recently-concluded Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, will not take part in the world meet to be held from September 4 to 18.

Amit Kumar Dahiya and Babita Kumari, who won a gold each in Glasgow in men's 57kg and women's 55kg freestyle, will also not take part in the World Championships. (Read: Glasgow Gold Boost for Rio Olympics, Says Sushil Kumar)
